I'm On A Boat

January 29, 2015

I’ve come across some boaters who think they do not need boat insurance… They are boating on the open waters; what could possibly happen? It is kept at a marina year round, supervised daily.

If someone slips on your boat, do you have coverage? That is reason enough. Not all boats are covered under your homeowners policy.

You can also get coverages that include your hull and personal property.

Hull insurance covers the boat and anything permanently attached to it such as sails, motors, hard top, etc.

Personal Property covers any items that are brought on to the boat.

Often times commercial towing & assistance, uninsured boater, and mechanical breakdown coverages are included in the annual premium.

With low deductibles, boaters insurance is nominal in comparison to the coverages that are provided.

Think before you boat.
