Wedding Season, Year Round

At the age of 26, flipping through social media, I begin to realize that every season is now THE season for weddings. Night after night, everything from engagement pictures to wedding rings and receptions are pictured, consuming my newsfeed. And what spectacular events these are becoming. Ornate weddings made up of famous photographers from around the world, chefs, and designer gowns, all occurring at the most sought after venues. All I can say is: Dollar, dollar bills y’all! No wonder the term “Bridezilla” has been coined. I mean, so much precious time, money and planning has been involved in making sure these events turn out to be absolutely perfect. With all of that being said, wouldn’t you think it would be only logical to insure events like these? For such a nominal expense you can have the following coverages:

  • Cancellation/Postponement- can provide coverage for certain deposits listed in the policy in the event of a necessary cancellation or postponement of the wedding. For example, if the venue suddenly goes out of business and is inaccessible or sudden illnesses prevents the honorees, parents, grandparents or children of honorees from attending, or the honorees are unexpectedly called to duty this coverage can reimburse you for deposits lost

  • Additional expense- can provide coverage for certain unexpected expenses you have to incur in order to avoid a cancellation or postponement of your event.Example, if a caterer or transportation company suddenly becomes unavailable for your event but you can find a last minute replacement, this coverage can reimburse you for the difference in cost

  • Event photographs/video- if your photographer fails to show up, or loses the negatives from your wedding, this coverage can reimburse you for the cost of reconvening your wedding party to take new photos or videos

  • Events/gifts-if your gifts are somehow damaged while on display at the reception, this coverage can reimburse you for repair or replacement cost

  • Special attire- if you’re traveling to your destination wedding and the airline loses your dress, the coverage can reimburse you for the replacement dress

  • Special jewelry- if the best man loses the ring the night before the wedding, this coverage can reimburse you for new rings.

  • Lost deposits- if your band or your limo provider fails to show up, this coverage can reimburse your lost deposit

For one of the most important events of your life, make sure you are covered. Like we always say, “May things always go your way. But its good to be prepared if they don’t.”
